It was an honour to cover Shane Warne’s tragic and untimely death as it unfolded in the SEN Melbourne studio. My news went all over Australia, New Zealand and parts of the United Kingdom.
LISTEN TO MY INTERNATIONAL NEWS READ HERE:
Wow. What a surreal morning and day.
Covering the Shane Warne tragedy was something that began for me in the early hours today on radio as the news broke. We were literally going live on air as news continually broke, attempting to tell stories of the man he was and keep listeners informed.
It was very difficult to balance the emotion of losing a great sporting hero and trying to do my job which was report the facts of his passing.
I will always remember reading that first news bulletin at 6am announcing his passing.
I will remember this day, the tragedy of losing our sporting icon and being part of it.
RIP Warnie and my condolences and love go to his kids and parents.
I was also lucky enough to be interviewed by radio station The Times London to share my thoughts.
